10.4 Furlong Skandagiri

After the most successful ಗೂಬೆ  Falls trip, the chairman of the owl committee again planned another trip. This time he was selfish, he planned a night trip so that he could see everything clearly. It turned to be his planned victory  with a total count of 20 people even though 19 were present physically (Bheema* only knows who was that extra person whom Goobe counted all the time). I joined all at Benaganahalli stop and witnessed half sleepy and half over enthusiastic folks.

We reached Skandagiri at 3:50 AM and Pajji asked for our suggestion to hire a Guide, and I responded spontaneously with a YES, coz I heard it as Kite. That moment I was asked to shut up. Just looking at the slope and the altitude of ಸ್ಕಂದಗಿರಿ, as a budding engineer Mr.Pajji was popped out with some thought, like a flash of genius from his ಗೂಬೆ  brain. And he called it as Furlong**. Right then Vasa used that unit with almost everything and turned himself as Furlong Vasa. After hiring a guide Rajanna and his assitant Mr. Adi we entered the black forest.
The whole path until we reached  the hill top was lit using mobile phones and the maximum luminosity was due to Nokia X2 (5 Mpx + flash). The great adventure included frequent slipping and resting by Suchi. Jani was abnormal as usual, walking on a different path from ours and ಕಾಡ guided the guide in the later part of the journey.


Scene: Skandagiri Top

The apex was awesome, filled with cool breeze, golden sunlight, parceled rice, hot water named as tea and some random noodles. There occurred a series of meaningless stomach aching laughter, me and Jani being the targets and a lot of photography with flash plus click sound. ಗೂಬೆ wanted to feel 'what is it like to be a dog?' and went to the same place where some dog performed a courageous act by standing at the edge. Climbing down the hill was more painful. Suchi walked like PT Usha (Thanks to that random noodle charged at 25 bucks which acted like a ಶಕ್ತಿಮದ್ದು) We halted down under a rock to sip on tender coconut. While coming down, a Top Secret was revealed which can be attributed to Vasa's eavesdropping capability. "Door Close" was the code word for that top secret. It was coined by Suchi because of her great detective skills and the convict was Paani. 

At 9 we were at the bottom and decided to hit some semi-urban place to meet some of the essential requirements. At the restaurant there was a debate between the lawyer and an ordinary man and ended up inconclusive as usual. Later we headed towards Nandi hills.

Scene: Inside Tempo
This time Jani didn't get a lot of opportunity to play with others life, he was devastated with the prank played by Goobe. Jani was blushing all the time as if her discovered a new love. Vasa's love stories (sorry it was supposed to be just a story) were thrown some light. 3 kg grapes were paid in return to all for crediting the tag 'coward' to Jani during the game Truth or Dare. Jani failed to perform the simple role to be Romeo though Juliet was next to him. I was asked to propose to some random girl named Rashmi Swain who cherished the position as Vasa's PC wallpaper (Still wondering, why was she his wallpaper?). It was no big deal for me and later I was asked with some other question. Some personal secrets received Wooo from everyone.

Scene : Nandi Hills

Jani received 'man of the match' for taking 4 wickets under the captain-ship of Goobe and Paani got out at the score 99 after receiving a lot of pressure from Suchi and Kho. After loosing all the games Goobe's spiky hairs turned more spiky. All the girls played a spinning game and warned all the boys with the dialogue, "ಹೋಗ್ರೋ, ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ್ನಕ್ರಿಕೆಟ್ ಗೆ ಕರ್ಕೊಳೋದೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಾವು ನಿಮ್ನ ನಮ್ ಗೇಮ್ ಗೆ ಕರ್ಯೋದಿಲ್ಲ". We are still unsure, if they meant ಲಗೋರಿ or ಕುಂಟಪಿಲ್ಲೇ.

Later all sleep deprived birds returned to their nest in the evening.
