Silver Jubilee Celebration Hangover

Like the smell of earth after first rain, like the tender morning sunshine, like the breeze near the beach, JNVG exulted in Silver Jubilee Celebration. The torchbearers (core committee members) were responsible for the successful completion of this magnificent gala. Hats off to you guys.

I am ಮಂದಿರ.... ಕುವೆಂಪು ರಂಗ ಮಂದಿರ..... .
The red carpet was rolled down for all the Gurus who had gathered from all over the country to bless their beloved disciples again, at Kuvempu Rangamandira. This enormous auditorium was lit with excitation at 4pm on 3rd Dec 2011. Then arrived the teachers, who had nurtured and nourished us into well human beings. A proud beaming smile and twinkling eyes embellished every single face of our teachers. Our basic intro with the teachers, their honest attempt in recognition of our face and proud appreciation for the achievement that we have accomplished were simply emotional. Once-upon-a-time-our-hero senior's dresses which ranged from ಕರಿ ಸೂಟ್  to ಬಿಳಿ ಲುಂಗಿ, all our parents who witness the magnificence, yummy ಶಂಕರ್ಪಳೆ as snack, the evening ambiance of ಮಲೆನಾಡು added eight color to the rainbow of our happiness.
Jam packed Mandira once boomed due to the energy of Chitkala and her power-boosted anchoring. It again vibrated with our Alma-mater(ನವೋದಯ ಗೀತೆ) under Rajini madam's eyes. The fascinating story of the evolution of the school by HNS Rao sir hypnotized us and made us turn into puppets.

Here is the story by HNS Rao sir in short & different words,
 Tunga-Valley Civilization
Once upon a time a bunch of sages entered ಗಾಜನೂರು. They took oath to convert once-upon-a-time swampy paddy land of 30 acres into a temple. The teaching under the trees, the lock-less library, the humility of the teachers and the commitment of the students were the foundations for building this temple. The temple was named as Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gajanuru.  It welcomed us saying, "ವಿದ್ಯಾ ದೇಗುಲವಿದು, ಕೈ ಮುಗಿದು ಒಳಗೆ ಬಾ".
The felicitation of the teachers with cheerful whoops from the students was emotional. Scintillating dance from Powerpuff girls (Pooja, Muktha, Shwetha, Chaya) dropped ours jaws. The melodious voice of Vinay & the orchestra was simply fabulous. ಪಂಕಜಾ.. and ಹಾಡು ಸಂತೋಷಕ್ಕೆ..  provoked every muscle of our body to dance involuntarily. The stage was filled with some of the best country dancers with ಅಣ್ಣಮ್ಮ steps. An explicit dance performance by teachers was simply catchy. In short, We rocked the floor. Food was felt extremely delicious for the exhausted souls. Everyone wished time, not to move at all.

Day Two at the school made us relive our old memories. The change in the infrastructure, the cute innocent faces of our juniors, the dedication of the teachers, the report, the planning, the inspirations got highlighted. The walk around the campus, visit to the temple, meeting all teachers again, long queues at the mess and our attempt to have 2 rounds of food were extremely memorable. Volleyball and football tested our stamina while Lagori near the Kho-kho ground induced noise pollution. The new aerobics from the juniors with cheerleaders costume on the football ground was different with Jai-Ho as the background song.

To,
J.13 Batch.
This part of the story will include some of the coded jokes of J13 batch. Other batch guys might not be able to decipher them.
Even after improper planning we were able to huddle together (14 guys) at majestic to start our journey to the school. The journey began with a song for soup boys, Changu's photography and blames on me for not booking the tickets. We slept due the laughter induced sleep. After the chai at the bus stand in the morning, the plans to reach pajji's house for freshen up was welcomed by the gushy cold wind from the bus windows. The fog around  gave a remarkable view.
Pajji's father's slap-on-the-face comment on Geeta, "ಹೋಗಮ್ಮ.. ಅಲ್ಲಿ brush ಮಾಡಿ ಬಾ" due to her malodorous mouth, when she tried to wish him. Fast and furious bath and washing after a short nap, we all cherished Pajji's mother's delicious Akki Rotti. Peda was present as 'Khaneke baad ..Kuch meetha ho jaye..!". Just for a change, there was a trip to Lion Safari as people were bored of seeing tigers from Shivalik. The event began at 4pm. Vasa and Pajji drove everybody to the auditorium after the safari. Akhila surprised all of us. During the songs were being sung from the orchestra, we began to rock the floor. Our eccentric steps for slow songs, shake-it-baby dance for Pankaja song were extremely ravishing. Our dear Mohan turned extreme courageous by performing solo dance on the stage which had only one step being repeated again and again and again...
At the dinner, snatching others jamoon was quite frustrating yet awesome. The night ride to Paddi's house was a different thing that we did this time. The chilling breeze, the bumpy ride gave a sense of fatigue to all of us. But again, we gathered lot of energy to share the stories, laugh and tease. My attempt to narrate a JaniFox's moral story which was being interrupted by numerous advertisements. Vasa was blessed with ವೀರಮರಣ by Jani's fictitious daughter's player.
The morning tea, and a visit to the ಅಡಕೆ ತೋಟ and an attempt to bring down some tender coconut from Ganni turned futile. Some of us stayed back and cherished 2 ಎಳೆನೀರು each by the Mani's effort. My first time attempt (much much better than Ganni) to reach the top of the tree gave a scar on my thighs.
The welcomed us, we greeted all the teachers again. Banakar sir's startling expression seeing at Jani's halo head and Rajkumar sir's attempt to narrate a story which eventually failed due to the advertisements. The mess turned into a magnet and while were looked as Ironmen. Jani's fantasy towards banana and Sunni's shyly-courageous face due to his position demoted him from ಹುಲಿ to ಇಲಿ. The preaching from the tigers on the juniors regarding the Shivalik-tigers-quota during placements and college admissions was controversial. Our junior scientist Appi's innovation over 'Lab and Laboratory' triggered awesome laughter when her own brother and some junior ಪುಟ್ಟಿs went again her innovation. The football was exhausting making us drink water by 'go straight and.. go straight' route map. The interrogation over some of the ಪುಟ್ಟಿs over appearance of the tiger Sunni was disappointing. The little girls new caption 'ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಹೇಳಿದ್ರೆ, ಗುರುವಾರ ಅರ್ಥ ಆಯ್ತಂತೆ' for Paddi's 3 time delayed understanding. The bajji and tea near the dam bid goodbye to us and we reached Bangalore and woke up with the nostalgic hangover.

I have certainly missed out a lot of things as I am writing with sleepy eyes. Comment all the capturing memories down.
